HopeSource has partnered with the Friends of the Roslyn Library to establish a new voucher program. This program will help underprivileged children get the books they desperately need to raise reading scores and improve overall academic performance. We are looking for donations of new or gently used children’s books for ages: Birth- Young Adult which can be dropped off at the Roslyn Public Library by September 10th. We appreciate your support!
FACT:
- Access to books is essential for reading development.
- Reading scores directly correlate with the number of books in the home.
- Middle-income neighborhoods average 13 books per child.
- Low-income neighborhoods average 1 book to 300 children.
